In the early WordPress days we only had one way to change the page layout and that was through choosing a new Theme that specifically designed every page layout. This caused a need for easier page layout, so the era of proprietary page building Plugins began to spring up, totally replacing the simplistic WordPress default page layouts and Theme layouts. Finally, WordPress offered its own page layout feature, called the new Block Editors. With too many commercial page layout plugins we began to see companies going out of business, especially since WordPress offered mostly the same features for free, not a subscription.
The project with this client was to move them off of a commercial page builder Plugin and just use the built-in WordPress editors instead. Now, they don’t have to pay an annual subscription to a Plugin company, and their content is standard WordPress content, something that will last hopefully for another decade or so.
